Miss Shannon
Art Instructor

Shannon hails from Wyoming, and has lived in Washington since 1985. As a child, she made good use of her freedom by exploring her environment and drawing what she saw. Her mother set a marvelous example by always seeking out new ways for creative expression, and that example and encouragement have helped Shannon to do the same. She also credits art teacher Billie Sessions with opening up the flood gates to many different art mediums and ways of approaching art. Shannon feels very passionate about her art, making it a point to draw every day. She continues to take new classes and learn new mediums, and she enjoys sharing her knowledge and skills with others.

Shannon studied Graphic Art at the University of Wyoming, Design and Painting at Everett Community College, Watercolor and Color Theory with Dottie Burton, Oil Pastel and Color Theory with Tom Jensen, Life Drawing at Ken Smiths Studio, and Watercolor and Color Theory with Terry Madden. She is a guest artist at Snohomish County Childrens Art Museum, and her work is on display (and for sale) at CZ Restaurant in Mukilteo. Currently she is involved with the Riverside Association, and Garfield Elementary, where they are constructing a mosaic mural for Garfield Park. She also teaches art to a group of disabled adults, which brings her a great deal of personal satisfaction.

The creativity in Miss Shannon finds other ways to escape! She is a singer and has recorded a CD with her band, Amazon Ant.
