They arrived expecting to have to learn someone else's choreography, but instead were shown one of the many videos of previous performances and told to make up their own. (And would a pair of dance instructors prefer to make up their own choreography than have to learn someone else's? Does a...well, just insert your own sarcastic metaphor here: [....................]) The performance went just fine, and the side benefits also included backstage passes for their hubbies for the post-concert meet-greet-and-have-your-picture-taken-with-Al event. Oh, and they also got to have their pictures taken with some other local guys who backed Al up on a couple of Star Wars themed songs. Al apparently has no problems in his travels with finding local guys who enjoy playing Star Wars dress-up and can even provide their own costumes...
It was quite a thrill to appear on stage with Weird Al - Miss Alison in particular has been a Weird Al fan since we first discovered him (ahem) let's just say "several" years ago. (Yes, those are our cassette tapes in the foreground of the picture - he was kind enough to autograph the liners.) We're hoping that a video of the performance will show up on YouTube, to join the several that are already there. What an incredibly talented, imaginative, and funny guy! Thrill Mill CreekOn October 27, 2007, Applause Studio participated in the Thrill The World project, which set a new world record for the most dancers simultaneously dancing to Michael Jackson's Thriller. On October 28, 2008, we're going to help break it! For more information, see http://www.thrillmillcreek.com. In the meantime, here are some pictures and videos from the 2007 event: |
