Recital Fees

A $25 recital fee per student is due by March 1.  This will cover the cost of the studio T-shirt that each student wears on stage during the finale, and the cost of paying our instructors for their time at the dress rehearsals and the recital.  For each recital fee paid, YPO provides one free recital ticket.  (Free tickets are also given to recital volunteers.)

Regarding Drop-In Classes...

If any student would like to try out a new class (assuming instructor permission if applicable), the "drop-in" rate is $15.00 per class.  All minors must be accompanied by adult, and their registration forms must still be filled out and signed by a parent or legal guardian. This can be done by downloading the form off of the web site, or requesting the form by mail so that it can be filled out and signed prior to class. If you wish to attend a class for the first time, please call first to make that the class is in session and that there is room.

Other Policies:

  • A registration fee of $25.00 per family per year is required upon registration.

  • A fee of $25.00 will be charged for NSF checks.

  • We require written notice 2 weeks in advance for any student intending to drop a class. We will continue to bill you each month, and we will expect payment in full until and unless we receive such notification.

  • No refunds for absences. Your instructor or Office Staff can recommend an appropriate make-up class. The make up class must be taken within 60 days of the original absence. In the case of serious injuries or a long-term serious illness, tuition amounts due can be “frozen” or pro-rated and credited until recovery time is complete, but only with a signed statement from the attending physician.

  • Participation in any performance group, or an intermediate or advanced class, is by audition or invitation only.

  • All minors must be accompanied by an adult, and their registration forms must be filled out and signed by a parent or legal guardian. This can be done in advance by downloading the form or requesting the form by mail so that it can be filled out and signed prior to class.  Please make your children aware of this policy if they are considering inviting a friend to try a drop-in class.  If you wish to attend a class for the first time, please call first.

  • No refunds are given unless we choose to eliminate that class from our schedule.

  • If the instructor must cancel a class, and we are unable to find a substitute, we will re-schedule that class. Every attempt will be made to inform everyone in the class about the cancellation and re-scheduling. The same applies to classes canceled due to snow or power outages.

  • Please call the studio if you know you or your student will be absent. We appreciate knowing whether or not to expect you. (Occasionally when there is a major school event that conflicts with a scheduled class, or when many people are ill, a teacher may come to teach a class with no one in attendance! This is very inconvenient, and to be avoided.)

  • Private students will be charged for classes that are missed without notification by noon of that same day.

  • If any student is ill with a fever, runny nose, sneezing or coughing, we request that you please keep that student at home.

  • Students must be attending class regularly in order to participate in our annual recitals. If a student ends up missing a large number of classes prior to a performance, the teacher has the option of trying to schedule one or more private lessons to try to catch that student up with the group. (Rates for these lessons vary.) This is still not a guarantee of the student’s participation.
