Deborah  - Pre-Ballet

Miss Deborah began her study of dance at age eight, receiving instruction from Ruth Brinkerhoff and Mary Adams. She studied under the Royal Academy of Dancing (RAD) curriculum, taking exams each year and progressing with excellent marks.

Miss Deborah danced with Brigham Young University’s Theatre Ballet, and also with their world-renowned Ballroom and Folk Dance teams. She was privileged to perform in Ballet West’s Nutcracker production. She was a founding member and principal dancer of Aspen Folk and Ballet Company where she performed the lead roles of Odette in Swan Lake, Aurora in Sleeping Beauty, and Cinderella. She was later an assistant director of this company, choreographing and running rehearsals. She was a guest performer while living abroad in Japan. She danced a lead role, Mary Magdelene, in the LDS church pageant, Jesus the Christ, performed in Mesa, AZ and also performed in the City of Joseph pageant in Nauvoo, Il. Before relocating to Seattle, she owned and operated her own dance studio in Fort Collins, Colorado for five years.

Miss Deborah is a busy mother of two growing boys, but finds time to share her talents with Applause Studio in our Monday Pre-Ballet classes. Her impressive selection of visual aids and music is the perfect compliment to her greatly varied curriculum of activities. Her gentle manner encourages a calm atmosphere for learning. We are proud to have her as a part of our staff.
